Award winning independent film maker, Anne Makepeace, discusses her latest film, TRIBAL JUSTICE, with one of the featured judges, Abby Abinanti, Chief Tribal Judge of the northern CA Yuroks. They discuss the quest for restorative justice in a dominant culture which focuses on retribution. Also featured is Judge Claudette White of the Quechen Tribe in the desert lands bordering Arizona and Mexico. Their successes have inspired increasing cooperation from state courts, even as drug abuse and trans-generational trauma challenge their determination to the wholeness of their communities.
