The American coyote is the subject of our interview with Dan Flores, author of Coyote America. Dan is an American writer and historian who specializes in cultural and environmental studies of the American West. He held the A.B. Hammond Chair in Western History at the University of Montana in Missoula until he retired in May 2014. In addition to Coyote America, Dan is the author of numerous other books about the natural history of the American Southwest. He lives in coyote country in the Galisteo Valley, outside Santa Fe, New Mexico.
