Jay is joined by Noel Brizuela, a PhD candidate at the University of California San Diego and an Earth system specialist at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Noel’s work seeks to understand how interactions between air, land, and sea modulate extreme events, natural hazards, and climate change. Despite the great importance of these Earth system processes to human activities, decision makers in the public and private sectors generally lack access to technical insight that can make nature work in their favor and make sustainability their strongest ally. He hopes to work with organizations at the interface between humans and natural resources and collaborate with people for whom building climate resilience and nurturing renewable natural capital are top priorities.
