On Oct. 28, 2021, the Bozeman for CEDAW Task Force held a forum for the candidates for the mayor and for three city commission seats, two four-year terms and one two year terms. The forum was held via Zoom and moderated by Lei-Anna Bertelsen. The participants were the candidates for mayor: Brian LaMeres, Terry Cunningham, and Christopher Brizzolara; candidates for the two open four-year city commission seats: Emily Talago, I-Ho Pomeroy, and Christopher Coburn; and the candidates for the open two-year city commission seat: Evan Rainey, Joey Morrison, and Jennifer Madgic.

On Oct. 21, 2021, the League of Women Voters, Bozeman Professional Women, AAUW, Bozeman Public Library, and Belgrade Community Library sponsored a forum for the candidates for three open Bozeman City Commission seats. The forum was held at the Bozeman Public Library and was presented as a Zoom meeting. The forum featured the three candidates for two open four-year City Commission seats: Chris Coburn, I-Ho Pomeroy, and Emily Talago. It also included the three candidates for an open two-year City Commission seat: Jennifer Madgic, Joey Morrison, and Evan Rainey. The forum was moderated by Sally Maison.

Deputy Mayor Terry Cunningham provides information about three measures that will be on the ballot for fall 2021 for voters that live in Bozeman city limits: approval to issue bonds to fund relocation of fire station #2 in Bozeman, approval to issue bonds to make repairs at the Lindley Center, Bogert Pool, and the Swim center, and approval for a levy to fund affordable housing measures.

One of the issues on the ballot for Gallatin County residents in the Fall 2021 election asks the voters for approval to issue bonds to fund the construction of a new county courts building at the site of the current Law and Justice Center. We talk to County Commissioner Zach Brown about the ballot issue and the reasons the county is asking for funding for a new courts building.

On Thursday, April 22, 2021, the League of Women Voters and the Bozeman Public Library hosted a forum for candidates for three openings on the Bozeman School Board. The forum was held via video teleconference, and it was split into two segments, the first featuring candidates Anna Schchemelinin, Gary Lusin, and Lei-Anna Bertelsen, and the second featuring candidates Cheryl Tusken, Douglas Fisher, and Jennifer Lammers.

On April 19, 2021 at 7:00 PM, the Bozeman Task Force to Advance the Status and Safety of All Women and Girls hosted a forum via videoconference for all Bozeman School District Board Candidates and voters of all persuasion. The forum focused on questions of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, in an effort to familiarize voters with the people who are running for the open school board seats that will be filled via this year’s election, held by mail-in ballot, with all ballots due by May 4, 2021. The task force is focusing on issues of women and girls’ human rights and other equity to promote fairness and inclusion to close the gender, race, income and other disparity gaps in our community.
