  • 2022-10-12 Ballot Issue Forum

The following recording was made of an issue forum held on Wed., Oct. 12 at the Bozeman Public Safety Center. The forum was sponsored by the Bozeman League of Women Voters, American Association of University Women, Bozeman Professional Women, The Belgrade Community Library, and The Bozeman Public Library, and was moderated by Sally Maison.

The forum was in two parts: the first part was an information session on the ballot initiative for Gallatin County Residents to establish a mill levy that will fund the Gallatin Rest Home.

The second part was a discussion of Legislative Referendum LR-131, Medical Care Requirements for Born-Alive Infants Measure, often referred to as the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act, that will be on ballots statewide. This was intended as a forum presenting arguments by proponents and opponents of the referendum, but the proponents of the measure decided shortly before the event to not participate. Because both proponents and opponents of the measure were invited to participate in this moderated forum, we are airing the forum, although most of the viewpoints and information were presented by opponents.
