National Trails Day at Gallatin Regional Park

Each year, Gallatin Valley Land Trust volunteers celebrate National Trails Day by helping build and maintain the Main Street to the Mountains trail system. This year event will take place athe Gallatin Regional Park on Saturday, June 3, 2017, from 8:30 – noon.

Volunteers will be working on a variety of projects including: tree planting, trail resurfacing, light construction on the bike pump track, spreading wood chips at the playground and around the climbing boulder, picking up trash, helping with invasive week control, and mulching existing trees.

This event is free and open to the public and is perfect for people of all ages and abilities. Volunteer registration begins at 8:30 am and work crews will head out around 9:00. Projects wrap up and lunch served at 12:00 pm.

Volunteers should come prepared with sunscreen, water, layers for weather, sturdy shoes, hat and gloves. GVLT will have some tools but additional shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows will be helpful.
