Doug Peacock – Ice Age Megafauna

Renowned grizzly bear expert and nature writer Doug Peacock talks in this interview about the megafauna that existed in North America during and following the Ice Age which ended about ten thousand years ago – and how it gives forewarning of what may lay in store with global warming in this time. Doug is the author of In the Shadow of the Sabretooth and, with his wife Andrea, co-authored the book The Essential Grizzly. Doug also writes extensively for magazines, including Audubon, Backpacker, and Outside. Peacock was named a 2007 Guggenheim Fellow and a 2011 Lannan Fellow. He lives just north of Yellowstone in the Paradise Valley of Montana. In his book In the Shadow of the Sabretooth, Doug writes about the megafauna wildlife that goes back ten to fifteen thousand years ago on the North American continent – and ended with the decline of the Clovis culture.
