Republican Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen has launched an investigation into GoFundMe after the company announced plans to withhold $9 million from people participating in the Freedom Convoy against vaccine mandates in Canada and instead send the money to other charities verified by the company. In redirecting the funds, Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen said the crowdfunding site violated Montana’s Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Act.

Montana state parks hosted 3.4 million visitors in 2021, a 1.3% decrease from the record high set in 2020. Montana state park visitation was 28% higher than in 2019. Total visitation in 2021 was 3,381,507.

A celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1972 Montana Constitutional Convention will take place March 22 at Montana State University in Bozeman. Former U.S. Senator and later, Ambassador to China, Max Baucus, former Gov. Marc Racicot, former state Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau, 1972 Montana Constitutional Convention delegate Mae Nan Ellingson and longtime state political journalist Charles S. Johnson will participate in a panel discussion at an event that’s free and open to the public.
