Renowned alpinist, Conrad Anker, presented a talk on “Glaciers and Climate Change” as part of the 2018 Headwaters Academy Speaker’s Series. Drawing on his personal experience on glaciers around the world, as well as scientific studies and historical and modern photography, he described the dramatic effects on glaciers of accelerating global warming. The challenge to human creativity and ingenuity is clear, but Anker remains positive, and emphasizes that “it’s our moral responsibility to give something back to this planet which has given us so much.”
