Indigenous People and Historical Trauma

The Drs. Wood are joined by Dr. Nia ToGoThere, who has a Ph.D. in literacy (viewed from cognitivive psychology and linguistics) and whose tribal ancestry is Cree, Rep. Rae Peppers, a Montana State Representative from the Cheyenne Reservation, farmer and rancher, and member of the Crow tribe, and Sen. JP Pomnichowski, a Montana Senator from Bozeman.  Dr. ToGoThere discusses a curriculum she has designed on historical trauma of indigenous people, focused on healing the soul wound. She describes her work, and the group discusses how this understanding might help guide legislation and societal change to help address issues faced by indigenous people.
