MSU Mental Health Symposium

On Thursday, April 27, 2023, a panel of mental health experts presented “Mental Health Resources & Research — a Community Symposium” at Montana State University. Co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Bozeman area and MSU’s Department of Research & Economic Development, the event was be held on the MSU campus at Norm Asbjornson Hall.

The panelists spoke about mental health topics including such as current issues for college-aged students, rural mental health resources and workforce development, psychopathology, addiction, and neuropsychiatric medicine.

Panelists included

  • Dr. Steven Kushner, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Columbia University
  • Dr. Robert G. Sise, CEO and Co-founder of 406 Recovery
  • Dr. Betsy Asserson, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, MSU
  • Dr. Rebecca Koltz, Department Head & Professor of Counseling, Health & Human Development, MSU
  • Dr. Brandon Scott, Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, MSU
  • After the panel discussion, there was a Q&A session. Drs. Arlis and Suzanne Wood and Rick Martinez from KGVM recorded the event – it is presented in two parts.
