Many parents dread “The Talk” with their children and instead hope they get good sexual health education in schools. But what many parents don’t realize is that there is no standardized curriculum in our nation, our state, our county, or in most cases – even in our local school districts for what sex ed students receive at each grade level. Bridgercare staff and Bridgercare/HAVEN high school Peer Educators discuss how individual schools (or teachers) decide what is taught, the importance of parents knowing what their children are learning and topics that may require special consideration in sex ed.
